Happy 4th of July..............Even if it's on a Wednesday!

With the 4th of July falling in the middle of the week, many people were stuck trying to figure out when to celebrate the big holiday. Should you do it the weekend before or the weekend after? Should you do it on the actually day and take the day before or after off? So many decisions and no real solutions in sight. One thing that you can be sure to do is to have a party that your friends and family will remember until your next big holiday get together. After stalking Pinterest I found a really cute idea using Mason Jars! This will sure get people talking about your cool holiday party!

Many brides love the idea of getting married on a holiday and of course sometimes it's for the obvious he-won't-forget-our-anniversary reason. Some want to know if it's okay to decorate your wedding/reception with the holiday theme surrounding your wedding. I say go for it, after all.......it is YOUR day. I would be careful to not make it too cheesy. If you decide to have a Christmas themed wedding, I would make sure to keep Santa at home. Looking back on the pictures will make you cringe and it will all seem like a gimmick instead of a beautiful day between you and your partner. I, however, would use fireworks for a 4th of July themed wedding. You are killing two birds with one stone. Your guests won't feel like they have missed out on your wedding and the 4th of July celebrations.

Whatever decision you have made for the upcoming holiday, just remember that it's not just an event...........it's a Soirèe!

Trending

Trending just doesn't apply to Twitter anymore. There are many new trends in the world of weddings and events.Gone are the days......well mostly.........of the Chocolate Fountains and on to the ever popular Candy Bars. This trend is a really popular addition to any event.Another trend in weddings is the bride having all of her wedding party (Bridesmaids and Maid/Matron of Honor) wearing all white. This trend goes either one way or another. The bride that usually requests this is either a bride of does not like the center of attention or a bride who is, yep you guessed it, trying to stay on trend. One of my favorite trends is the party host who makes sure every guest leaves their event/wedding, with a perfectly executed DIY gift! These gifts are usually the ones that people keep for years to come and it shows your guests that you really cared, prepared, and perfectly planned your event! To check out more trends for the upcoming summer and fall wedding seasons, check back regularly for posts on this topic!

We Have Liftoff!!!!!!!!!!!

So I want to formaly introduce myself. My name is Nicole " Nikki Renèe" Knowles and I am Certified Wedding and Event Planner in DFW. My journey to this has not been an easy one, due to crazy work hours and a new bundle of joy..........9 months ago! :-) I have always loved throwing a party so why not make it a profession?! I get a kick out of people enjoying what I have created or helped to create, so the decision to get into this business was an easy one, but also a scary one. With so many people doing "what they love" I was nervous, but if I don't put my toe in the water, I will always have regrets. So here's to a new chapter in my life and here's to hoping I enhance yours!
